The School of Business and Technology

DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS AND COMPUTER SCIENCE

MINORS IN COMPUTER SCIENCE AND MATHEMATICS

A grade of C or better will be required in the courses taken to satisfy the minor. In accordance with the particular guidelines given below, specific minor programs for individual students will be set up and approved by the Chair of the Department, or a designate, in consultation with the students involved.

Minor in Mathematics

In order to minor in Mathematics, it is recommended that the following be included: MATH 110 or MATH 111H, MATH 211 and at least six hours of 300 and 400 level course in mathematics and computer science.

Minor in Computer Science

Students minoring in Computer Science and interested in business applications should complete the following courses: CSDP 220, CSDP 222, CSDP 250, CSDP 301, CSDP 350, and one semester of 400 level computer science.

Students minoring in Computer Science and interested in scientific applications should complete the following courses: CSDP 220, 
CSDP 222, CSDP 250, CSDP 301, CSDP 350, and two semesters of 400 level computer science (usually CSDP 442).

Students minoring in Computer Science but not interested in either business or scientific applications should complete the following courses: CSDP 220, CSDP 222, CSDP 250, CSDP 301, CSDP 350, plus two other semesters of 300-and 400-level computer science courses, at least one of which must be on the 400 level.
